JUSTIN M. RINDOS
Owner & Mental Performance Coach
Justin M. Rindos is the visionary founder and owner of ELITE MYND Performance LLC, where he blends a unique expertise in mental performance coaching for elite athletes. With a diverse background as a private equity executive, attorney, and life-long elite competitor, Justin’s approach is innovative, deeply informed, and laser-focused on results.
Justin’s path to mental performance coaching is grounded in rigorous academic and hands-on experience. He earned a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania studying under some of the most influential minds in performance psychology and positive psychology, including Martin Seligman (founder of positive psychology), Angela Duckworth (leading expert on grit), and Ryan Niemiec (leading authority on character strengths). This education, paired with his lifelong passion for sports, shaped Justin's understanding of the powerful role character strengths and well-being play in athletic success.
As a lifelong athlete, former NCAA Division I Men’s Cross Country team captain, ultramarathoner, and hybrid endurance athlete, Justin knows first-hand the importance of mental conditioning in reaching peak performance. Through ELITE MYND, he delivers strengths-centric, evidence-based mental performance coaching specifically designed for elite athletes. His approach integrates positive psychology principles to help athletes perform at their best while staying mentally resilient and balanced.
Central to Justin’s innovative vision is the application of character strengths in talent identification and athlete development. By using a combination of formal and informal evaluations, he helps coaches and talent evaluators identify and cultivate key character strengths such as perseverance, creativity, and self-regulation. This personalized approach ensures athletes not only excel in their sport but also thrive mentally and emotionally to maximize their roles within teams and enhance overall performance.
Before founding ELITE MYND, Justin had a distinguished career as a private equity executive, where he held key leadership positions, including chief financial officer and global co-head of fund formation. He pioneered several groundbreaking private equity industry innovations, including creating the world's largest registered private equity fund, and securing key regulatory approvals that opened new investment markets for international pensions and domestic 401(k) plans.
Justin’s forward-thinking ideas and commitment to developing elite athletes have positioned him as a leading figure in mental performance coaching. His work at ELITE MYND is transforming sports performance by strategically incorporating character strengths and positive psychology to unlock true athletic potential.
In his free time, Justin competes as a hybrid endurance athlete, participating in events ranging from Hyrox competitions to 100-mile ultramarathons like the Leadville Trail 100, while also enjoying time with his two young children.
